Taste pure bliss - an enchantment of West African spice flavours.

Salt, coriander, cinnamon, garlic, green peppercorn, ginger, thyme: together they weave an extraordinary flavour spell that becomes part of your basic comfort food memories...

In West Africa they make an onion Yassa sauce. There are as many recipes for Yassa Onion Sauce as there are cooks in West Africa... This one is delicious, beyond deliciousness!

ONION YASSA: Roughly chop 3 brown onions and 5 cloves of garlic. Place in a roasting pan with 100ml peanut oil. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the vegetables and grind 2 tsp Spiced Bliss over the top. Roast until the onions are very soft - (take care not to burn the garlic!) Blend with a fork and serve with roast chicken.

Also great on fish and lamb. Excellent on roast root vegetables, butternut or pumpkin - or in a brown and wild rice dish with lentils, cashews and onions.

Every year, Turqle Trading in South Africa pays 2,5% of its turnover to the Fair Trade Trust. This means (amongst other things) that every year, more than 200 children benefit from a contribution to their school fees. Isn’t that nice to know?
