The chief of cooks at a game lodge on the Letaba river, proudly declared that when he cooks a wedding banquet, he always includes at least one dish flavoured with "Happiness Salt" - a sure fire recipe for eternal contentment at the dinner table...

The blend sounds lyrical - ginger, green and white pepper, lemon, flower petals and herbs... Happiness Salt charms the flavours of small game birds - perfect on a Springbok steak.

It is a particular flavour friend of vegetables and salads though... It finishes glazed, roast carrots to perfection. It is a wonderful condiment for meal-salads like roast butternut and feta with avo and pumpkin seeds on butter lettuce.
